The Somme Estuary pocket puzzle is a 99-piece Tàlat puzzle.
This model was conceived and designed by cartographer Lucie Simoneau and depicts the estuary of the Bay of Somme, marked by spectacular tides that move enormous volumes of water.
This perpetual movement shapes two environments: the slikke, a low sandy area streaked with channels and covered by each tide, and the schorre (or "mollière" in Picardy!), a high area of salt marshes. Alongside sheep grazing in the salt meadows, this estuary produces most of France's samphire.
Particular attention is paid to the balance between the visual aesthetics of the map and the puzzle experience.
